As I mention in the video, this little male betta was being kept in an unheated, unfiltered flower vase. Sure, it looks pretty for a while, but then this is what happens to them within a few weeks.
Some people say, well, it's just a fish, it's gonna die soon anyway! Well, first, a betta should live between 3-6 years. Secondly, what then, would you define as "dying soon"? Some dogs only live 10 years, does that mean you can mistreat them? And humans only live about 90 years! Well, compared to some creatures (say a turtle), that's nothing! How many years is enough years for a creature to deserve some proper care? I say, if it lives, and you've decided to take on the responsibility of 'owning it', it deserves your best effort!
