Just a few quick tips on customizing your dock using terminal commands, without the clutter of 3rd party apps. Here are the commands I went over in the video:

Suck effect: defaults write com.apple.dock minieffect suck
Align left: defaults write com.apple.dock pinning -string start
Align right: defaults write com.apple.dock pinning -string end
Align center (default): defaults write com.apple.dock pinning -string ""
2D Dock: defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES; killall Dock
