These are the real thing... hand wound by Jerry Amalfitano. I think these are the best modern style strat pickup available... definitely my favorite.
The Amalfitano Pickups SP set has a hotter output than than Jerry's vintage style sets but it still retains the pure stratocaster sound. They are scatter-wound with vintage enameled wire and Alnico 5 magnets. Jerry winds each pickup so that the output is balanced when they are all set to the same height. The bridge is around 7K ohm, the neck is around 6.2K and the middle is somewhere in between.
The amp is my clone of a Dumble Overdrive Special... it's based on #124 and is pretty accurate to the accepted schematic other than a few personal tweaks and a tube driven spring reverb... The cab, chasis and transformers are from a twin reverb reissue.
For each pickup setting I start with the clean channel for just a few seconds, then I switch to the overdrive channel and play for a little bit. Finally I switch on the preamp boost and finish up. You can hear me click the switch with my foot.
The fx loop has a home-made kleinulator with a rebote 2.5 style delay.
The guitar is the same ej strat that I used in the SVL demo.
