Backstage in Amsterdam's Concertgebouw on February 13, 2012, the New York Philharmonic prepares for the concert. Musicians arrive, warm up, play chess, and send last minute texts to family, until they take the stage and are joined by Music Director Alan Gilbert and The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Frank Peter Zimmermann — all set to Beethoven's Violin Concerto, the first work on the evening's program.
