The HAMR seems like a really popular optic. Two other guys at my range bought them, and we all have different opinions on them. They're definitely a unique black rifle optic. Which is an arena that Leupold doesn't lean on with the same intensity that Trijicon or Nightforce do.

In short: I like it, but I have enough reservations about it that I didn't keep it on my Tavor. I think it may be better suited to the AR platform (big surprise there)

The HAMR can not take any kind of lens cover, flip up or otherwise. But Leupold's warranty should cover any damage that you might incur in the field.

I am currently unsure of whether the HAMR can be repaired be Korth, or needs to be returned to the US for an maintenance.
