Dubstep. Is. Awesome. While some people may hear noise, we hear amazing musical genius. The aural creativity of Dubstep, and its embrace of inharmonic sounds, makes it the most recent member of the long-established Avant Garde community. There is a long history of avant garde musicians and thinkers promoting the concept of noise and non-instrumental sounds as MUSIC, much to the horror of their audience. But over the past century, changes in technology and music genres have primed listeners, allowing mainstream audiences to enjoy the beautiful noise of Skrillex, Bassnectar & the whole Dubstep movement.

though dubstep is pretty popular i like the fact that it hasn't become pop music. It's like metal. There are few songs that get hyped and some artists that are very well known (e.g. Metallica, Iron Maiden, for dubstep: skrillex etc.) but it is a genre of it's own and will continue to exist and fans will still listen to it. I don't like the statement "it will be forgotten in a few years" i mean ppl are still listening and creating techno like in the 90s and stuff so...

Russolo would be turning in his grave now. Noise music like Merzbow would be more fitting. Dubstep isn't noise, its just melodic distortion which uses four chords, and occasional triplets. Not at all avant garde.

I mean... Burial, maybe... but Skrillex?
I remember one day i woke up to dupstep... I was about to start to sware that how an my neighbour be such in in considerate bastard, to listen to such so early in the Morn'. It turned out it was the tractor wich plowed his garden, not dupstep, despite the fact that i recognised a skrillex song in it, one that my sister listened to just the day before.

I love EDM daft punk I don't like how everyone thinks dubstep is just skrillex he's not the face he's part of it as dubstep is a huge variety of music
Inebriated Genie
I disagree with it being "avant garde genius" because it is much to simple and widely liked.
