How does the ARMv6 CPU on the Raspberry Pi stack up to the old ARMv5 CPU on the SheevaPlug? The results will surprise you. This video started as a review, but turned into more of a benchmark exploration. (edit note: Called it an ARMv11 CPU in the video, seems to be v6, not v11, googlefu fail.) Couple other notes, there was some concern about the GUI running on the Pi being the reason it's benchmarking lower. I reran the tests after a fresh boot with nothing running on the Pi, the scores improved less than 1%. The GUI really hadn't affected these tests. I also re-ran them after Raspbian came out and properly supported the FPU. THAT helped A LOT, the FPU tests went up dramatically, 700% for one of them.
