MTV covered my first Internet gig. I was the Online Director for the first New York Music Festival in 1995, sponsored by Apple, Inc. and produced by Michael Dorf (Knitting Factory, City Winery) and Andrew Rasiej (Irving Plaza, Personal Democracy Forum). It was one of the first live-streamed events on the Internet, and probably the first multi-venue simultaneous live webcast on the Internet. Without question, the largest online event of its time. We wired 15 Manhattan nightclubs to the Internet to deliver text, photos, and live audio and video. I was amazed to get an email from a guy in Singapore saying he had a sense of what New York was like because of our webcast. It was awesome. #winning
