The Syrian port city of Tartus saw a seven-vessel-strong parade for Russia's annual Navy Day, which is celebrated on the final Sunday of July each year.
Tartus, on Syria's Mediterranean coast, hosted the event, to go alongside similar processions in the likes of St. Petersburg.
The Russian tricolour and the Navy flag were flown as part of the parade.
After that the Commander of the Navy in the Mediterranean, Captain Pavel Yasnitsky, together with the Commander of the Parade, Colonel-General Sergei Surovikin, oversaw a procession in which six Russian ships as well as a submarine from the Black Sea Fleet partook.
