Sound is far more abstract than visuals. Plus someone could makes "ugly" art on purpose. Punk is ugly, and yet lots of people like it. Pop music isn't ugly, and yet lots of people hate it. There are variables that you aren't considering because of your elitist, purist BS attitude. For example, in the past major 3rds were considered "ugly" and "wrong" even though we use them all the time now. Parallel 5ths and suspended chords were also ugly and wrong. The jazz chords we use now would have been considered ugly and wrong. The sound of distorted electric guitar was also a bad thing at one point. By those facts alone, you're 100% incorrect. Music is subjective and changes with culture. Hell, the fact that there are so many different styles of music proves it's subjective. You have no examples like this. You're trying to prove your claim by just repeating the claim. That's a logical fallacy. If you notice this is becoming circular, it's because of you bud. People think about music in different ways and feel it in different ways. Get over it. Also the fact you bring up standards proves it's subjective. Think about science. Do you think it has anything to do with "standards"? It has to do with objective, demonstrable, testable, logical proof. Standards have nothing to do with it. Things are not true because of standards bud. They're true by the ability to demonstrate the validity of something beyond someone's opinion and standards. Standards apply to things like art because it's subjective.

Taste is not subjective. We have standards. Was Elephant Man ugly? Yes, he was. That's not subjective. Your standards are clearly lower. That's fine. But if you're so convinced that it's just subjective then you wouldn't keep going on and on. The fact is that you know that we're right and it bugs you. I pity you. Carry on...

How much do I love you? I'll tell you no lie How deep is the ocean? How high is the sky? How many times a day do I think of you? How many roses are sprinkled with dew? How far would I travel To be where you are? How far is the journey From here to a star? And if I ever lost you How much would I cry? How deep is the ocean? How high is the sky?
