The Coywolf is one species that truly deserves far more respect then it receives. In the Northeastern US and Eastern Canada this incredible hybrid species has learned to fill the ecological niche left void from the lack of wolves. In much of their habitat range they are the top apex predator, and the "top dog" if you will. They carry with them a strong genetic connection to the Eastern Wolf and the Western Coyote. Unfortunately for this beautiful animal very few people truly understand them. Spending time with them and watching their true behavior shows us they are an extremely social and intelligent wild canine species.
People do get understandably upset when they loose a pet to a wild carnivore like a Coywolf however, the problem actually comes from allowing a small domestic animal outside unattended, at night. This creates unfortunate situations that can turn out very bad for the cat or even small dog and also for the carnivorous wildlife simply doing what they are supposed to do as a wild species. Through proper education and old fashioned common sense practices it's easy to live with this beautiful species. Learning to live "with" carnivores is simple and far less dangerous then the road we each live right beside. For more information please see my blog about living with this beautiful species! http://naturewalkswithmark.org/blog/2...

On this film "Mystery of the Coywolf Part1" you will learn the facts from one of the nations leading experts on the species behavior, a scientist by the name of Dr Jonathan Way. He is a biologist and author of the book "Suburban Howls" and has been studying this enigmatic species for over 12 years.
You are not going to want to miss Part 2 when we will be taking it a step further and getting to the heart of misconception about the incredible animal... the Coywolf!
