The Seekers with 'Morningtown Ride' were not the first to use the symbolism of a train journey to make bedtime fun for children. The singer is unmistakeably Jack Charman under one of his many pseuds. Recorded on the Victory label Cat No. C 11, the date is uncertain, but it was recorded in London & pressed in Saxony, making it pre WW1. To confuse things further, Kalliope Company is printed at the base of the label. The pressing is a bit pimply, should the lyrics be unclear they're available on the internet.
