Asheville City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night put off any decision regarding the controversial "BID" property tax increase. The "Business Improvement District" proposal would include downtown property owners, merchants and residents alike. The tax hike is based on 7 cents per 00 dollars valuation. The intent is to use the money to make the area cleaner, greener and safer. There will be another public hearing September 25. By: Frank Kracher On Twitter: @FrankKracher\n\nwww.wlos.com
