One Right Turn is the ultimate musical family affair from Hawaii, two young sisters, Tiffa and Connie hailing from the amazing Hawaiian musical Cruz family and Tiffa's husband Imua Garza - former lead singer / founding member of the famous Opihi Pickers.
Imua Garza - Imua first appeared on a professionally released compact disc at the age of 11 when his version of local song "On Fire" was included on the Hidden Treasures - Ukulele Stylings 2 CD released in 1996 featuring Hawaii's most promising ukulele players. About this time Imua started playing in his first music group, Opihi Pickers, with his brother and his cousin. The Opihi Pickers' first CD, Fresh off the Rocks, was released in 1998. From these recordings and early live performances his reputation as a ukulele virtuoso soon grew around the islands. Ten years later, The Opihi Pickers have become one of Hawaii's most beloved bands with several #1 radio hits.
Since that time Imua has become an accomplished producer, recording studio engineer and musical arranger and has appeared on over a dozen CDs including 7 from the Opihi Pickers, several various artists' projects and a solo instrumental project featuring the ukulele called Dreamspeaking which was released in 2003. He has also done work on a movie soundtrack for an independent film from New Zealand and on commercials for radio and television. He recently produced a 2008 release of Hawaii's top new reggae band "Rebel Soljahz" who is currently the #3 top selling reggae album in the U.S.
Tiffa Garza - Tiffany Garza, formally Tiffany Cruz comes from a strong line of singer/song writers/recording artists in her family. She started writing songs at the age of 8 and picked up the guitar when she was 12. She recorded and released an album in 2006 with former band "The Girlas", and has also guest appeared on other albums from Hawaii. You'll find Tiffany singing at church or performing with her husband Imua Garza and sister Connie Cruz and the trio make for unstoppable talent and can often be seen playing together around town to satisfied crowds. Tiffany along with her husband and sister has even sat in with John Cruz and Jack Johnson at the 2007 Kokua Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Connie Cruz - Connie recorded and released an album in 2006 with former band "The Girlas", and has also guest appeared on other albums from Hawaii. Connie along with her sister and brother in law has even sat in with John Cruz and Jack Johnson at the 2007 Kokua Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii. Connie is also half of the famous duet with her Hawaiian Cowboy Father, Ernie Cruz, Sr - known throughout the Hawaiian Islands as the Yodeling / Singing / Picking Hawaiian Musical Cowboy.
Cruz family - Sisters Connie and Tiffa Cruz require no introduction for island residents who recognize their father, Ernie Cruz Sr. Younger generations will know their brother, Ernie Cruz Jr., as one half of the wildly popular Ka'au Crater Boys from the 1990s, while brothers Guy and John have also enjoyed successful solo careers.
