**Haiku Valley north ridge stairway** This is NOT the Haiku Stairs (Stairway to Heaven). The Stairway to Heaven that everyone is familiar with is located on the south rim of Haiku Valley.

Photo album: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid...

Haiku Hidden Stairs are located on the north rim. They are continuous (a couple sections missing) all the way down towards a massive vertical rockface, probably 400ft, down to Haiku Plantations. These stairs were part of a project to construct two sets of metal stairways on the north and south rim of Haiku Valley. While the south rim was successful, the north rim project was a failure. As they constructed these hidden stairs from the top down, they came across a section of the ridge that is impassible so therefore the project was abandoned. It was thought that there was another "CCL" building on top of the Haiku Hidden Stairs. It is true, although no 2 microwave dishes exist on the roof, but there is a concrete structure that one can enter and looks similiar to the Stairway to Heaven CCL building.

The Haiku Hidden Stairs are in surprisingly good condition despite absolutely ZERO maintainence. It was built, then left abandoned to rust. While the handrails are rusty, the steps can support a person's weight. We went down the first descent on the stairs, then turned around due to time constraints.
