Another "Alternate Side of the Street" video - this was shot on Monday during the 8:30-9:00 AM street cleaning. I'm playing and singing "By Special Permission of the Copyright Owners I Love You", a tune from the 1931 Broadway flop, "The Gang's All Here", which starred Ted Healy. Ted went on to appear with "his Three Stooges"; they later dropped him, much like an anvil on Curly's head.
Music by Lewis A. Gensler, Lyrics by Owen Murphy & Robert A. Simon (music editor at The New Yorker). I don't think the tune should swing quite this much, but I can't help it. Played on a Cordoba concert uke that veers out of tune in the 34F-degree air...
