We motivate least squares by trying to figure out how many wheel rotations we need for a programmable robot to travel exactly one meter. Note you can extend this lesson to include an application of the formula: circumference = pi x diameter. You can also use geometry and least squares to calibrate turns (achieved by rotating the wheels in opposite directions) of any given angle. These are just a couple of examples of the many lessons you can teach with these robots.
