This is the second recorded lecture on a series of classes imparted at IQOQI (Innsbruck) introducing the theory of superconducting circuits, circuit quantization and their application to quantum information, quantum computing and quantum simulation.
In this lecture we cover additional examples of circuit quantization, focusing on microwave transmission lines and resonators, deriving the wavefunctions and energies of confined microwave photons, and discussing a bit of spectroscopy.
