The Grand Re-opening of Courthouse Square marks a milestone in the largest set construction project in Hollywood history. After the June 2008 fire, the set officially opened to the public on June 18th, 2009. I was lucky to be on the first official tour on re-opening day.

The buildings surrounding the courthouse were completely burnt down, but the courthouse itself had only minor damage. The courthouse that stands is still the original structure used in hundreds of movies such as "Back to the Future," "To Kill a Mocking Bird," and "Bruce Almighty." As of the the re-opening date, it was being used for the TV Show, "Ghost Whisperer."

The surrounding backlot sets, such as New York Street, Brownstone Street, and some new Paris and London sets were set to open in Spring 2010.
