Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible (Private Remaster) - 05 Archives Of Pain

So, this album is one of my favourite albums of all time. Possibly my favourite. But here is my personal spin on it. I have been listening to this version, my private remaster, for years now, and then realised I hadn't released it to YouTube.

As we all know, the album was recorded in a budget studio in Wales. It's sound was essentially that of a budget studio in Wales, and don't get me wrong, regardless of the sound it was and still remains an incredibly bloody brilliant album.

But the original UK mix has a murky sound that, in my mind, marred the excellent songs. Later, the U.S. mix was released on the deluxe re-release of the album. Hmm, it was getting there, but a little too bombastic, and lost some of the unpolished charm of the original mix.

What I tried to achieve was a balance I guess, between the original mix and the polish and bombast of the U.S. mix. I've only listened to this version since it was made a few years ago after a few different attempts on getting the sound nearer the target. I've had positive feedback from some rabid Manics/Holy Bible fans too, which is a huge compliment!
