a rare outing for 34067 in the North of England, and the first of 2012, as the loco headed The Railway Touring Company's 'Cumbrian Mountain Express' from Carnforth to Carlisle then south over the S&C to Farington Junction. We first see 34067 working hard on the climb up to Grayrigg summit through Oxenholme on the outbound run, running 5 mins late after a late start from Carnforth. On the return leg, 34067 is seen climbing towards the top of Langho bank through Ramsgreave & Wilpshire. Finally, we see Tangmere running light plus support coach into Preston, catching everyone off guard as it crossed every running line to get across to the east side of the station.
