"Come out and get involved" was the message from Minster Michael Ring as he joined cycling legend Sean Kelly, Cork hurler Seán Óg O'hAilpín and model Sarah McGovern for the An Post Cycle Series launch.
O'hAilpín, who lines out against Kilkenny this weekend, caught the cycling bug after taking part in a stage of the An Post Rás last year. And while he'll be striving for victory against the Cats, the Corkman emphasised that sport should be, above all, fun:
"We play sport to win but there's also that enjoyment factor, and that's the reason we all get involved."
Kelly hailed the success of the increasingly popular event: "It's amazing the way it has grown since the first one a number of years ago."
The Cycle Series consists of routes that cater for everyone from the serious amateur to the enthusiastic beginner. A list of the routes is shown below.
