Tooting my own horn, but I did my best to answer that question from a composition and arrangement standpoint in my comment about a month ago. (Gotta do something with that music degree, which otherwise turned out to only be useful when filling out the "Highest Education Level Attained" section of applications to clerical jobs.)

This is one of the best pixar movies of all time. When i watch Meet the Robinsons I begin to cry a little. Its incredeblely how people underrate this movie I find this movie better than frozen Its sad    Rob Thomas is a genis

At this point I'm just being a nitpicker with too much time on his hands, but as I mentioned above, it's actually Disney, pre-Pixar merger. Either way, yes, a very underrated, underappreciated film. I think it just got lost in the glut of CGI films coming out at the time.

Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder Don't you know the hardest part is over? Let it in, let your clarity define you In the end we will only just remember how it feels Our lives are made in these small hours These little wonders, these twists and turns of fate Time falls away but these small hours These small hours still remain Let it slide, let your troubles fall behind you Let it shine until you feel it all around you And I don't mind if it's me you need to turn to We'll get by, it's the heart that really matters in the end Our lives are made in these small hours These little wonders, these twists and turns of fate Time falls away but these small hours These small hours still remain All of my regret will wash away somehow But I cannot forget the way I feel right now In these small hours These little wonders, these twists and turns of fate Yeah, these twists and turns of fate! Time falls away, yeah but these small hours And these small hours still remain, yeah Ooh they still remain These little wonders, oh these twists and turns of fate Time falls away but these small hours These little wonders still remain

Agreed - but this isn't actually a Pixar film. It's Disney, from before the merger with Pixar. But of course, Disney hires the best creative people in the business -- of whom there are enough to staff Disney, Pixar, and probably a few more production companies. The competition in the field is insanely intense. No matter how good you are, landing a gig with Disney or Pixar is a freaking miracle.

Every time I am sad, I listen to this song and i discover what is the right thing and the right choice to do. Thanks to Rob Thomas and merry christmas to all the people who will read my message.

This song kills me everytime I hear it. So melancholic, optimistic and beautiful. When those strings come in.....

Yeah, that's an incredible passage that I recently commented about, probably at too much length. That bit of orchestration was probably not Rob Thomas' creation, but rather the work of the producer or orchestrator. Honestly, it's a pretty standard kind of flourish (which Thomas, despite my previous assertion, may have included in the keyboard parts of his original demo. The guy has mad skillz); but the reason it's used frequently is because it's so effective.

Its an amazing song it touches my heart immensely....(((:

This song has such a strange effect on everybody... It makes all of us SO unbearably nostalgic, and I get an almost implanted memory (inception!) that links this song to the end of high school, even though I graduated a long, long time before this song even came out. What the hell is so timeless about this song that it reminds everyone of that time in their life? Anyway, great song.
