A norlun trough created a narrow band of heavy snow across parts of Long Island and SW Connecticut. This band produced disappointment in NYC, and excitement in Connecticut. While a dusting to a couple inches fell in NYC, over 8 inches have fallen in parts of Connecticut. Just goes to show you what small scale weather features can do sometimes, even if in very small areas. The band of heavy snow was generally under 30 miles wide, and extended into parts of eastern New York. This is how people in the lake effect regions must feel.
