Elizabeth Berrien, "Godmother of Wire", greatly inspired the recent wave of contemporary wire sculpture. Beginning in 1968, she pioneered her own unique form of wire sculpture, hand-twisting hundreds of individual strands into complex and expressive animal, human and abstract form.
