The Ved Vignan Maha Vidhya Peeth (VVMVP) free schools provide free education in rural, tribal, and slum areas. The first school was started in 1981 in Bangalore. Today VVMVP provides free education to almost 23,500 students in 175 schools. VVMVP works for the all round development of students helping them to excel in every field be it academics, sports, music, or dance. Many parents (with no history of education or schooling) send their children to the VVMVP school instead of making them work in the fields. Schools nurture the complete child, including mind, body, and spirit. Family values are strengthened and social barriers are replaced by progressive attitudes.
