Footage from the 2011 protests in NY, Portland, Orlando, San Diego, Boston, and San Francisco.

We wrote this song in 2011after the protests in Madison, WI and in an odd synchronicity, we called it "Trump." We were using the word as a verb---"how did profit ever trump well-being?" Didn't know Trump would be running for president, so that was a random coincidence/eerie foreshadowing.

See the lyrics below and hear the tune on Spotify http://bit.ly/1QgcnmT

I can hear it everywhere
I can hear it in the streets
It’s the sound of desire

Oh the shackles that we wear
Are paper thin and green
And maybe we are finally tired

How did it (profit) ever trump
How did it ever trump well-being?

Oh some pockets run so deep
The rest are struggling for a piece
Of a fast-turning (rotting) pie

And the waters while we sleep
Are getting bought up by a thief
With paper bills for eyes

How did it (profit) ever trump
How did it ever trump well-being?
