How to install Adobe Lightroom Brushes

After you download Lightroom brushes, the next step is to install them. Installing adobe Lightroom brushes is one of the easiest things to. This is because the steps are fairly easy to follow and all you have to do is drag and drop the presets onto a folder and you are good to go. The first step in doing this unzipping the adjustment brushes that you download. You have to take care to ensure that you make note of the folder that you extract the brushes to. The next step is to open Adobe Lightroom.

After Lightroom starts, click on lightroom then preferences. A small window will open and you have to make sure that you are on the presets tab. This is very important. You will then see a box that says show Lightroom presets folder. Clicking the button next to it should take you to a folder on your computer. Please make note of this folder as this is the folder that you are going to be installing the brushes to.

In the folder that opens, you will see lots of folders in there. You will see a folder called local adjustment presets. It is in this folder that you are going to drag and drop the presets that you have downloaded. One of the most important things to keep in mind is that you have to copy the brushes themselves and not the folders and adobe Lightroom will not be able to read the folder should you drag them in like that.

After you have the lightroom 5 brushes copied into the local adjustment presets folder. The next thing to do is to restart lightroom and all of your brushes will be ready to use. Remember that brushes are very important on helping you edit small specific parts of an image and they are particularly important if you would like to layer your presets.

Remember that the adjustment brushes that you download are editable. What this means is that if you have the skills, you can develop your own brushes from the ones that are provided. This is very powerful for those who would like to increase their Lightroom brush collections and would like to come up with some of their own brushes.
