Relax-and-Recover (Rear) is the leading Open Source disaster recovery solution. This video demonstrates a typical use-case of Relax-and-Recover.
When doing `rear mkbackup`, Relax-and-Recover will first analyse your storage configuration, then create a minimal rescue image storing this layout and finally create a backup (this is optional). This process can be scheduled to run when/if it is required.
When disaster strikes, you can fall back to this system rescue image and boot it (various means possible). Once booted `rear recover` will perform the recovery automatically or (during migration) guide you through the process.
