ABSTRACT: DART is a keypoint extraction and description method. Comparison to similar approaches such as SIFT and SURF show higher precision vs recall performance of the proposed method. Moreover, we dramatically reduce the computational cost by a factor of 6x and 3x, respectively.
This video is an application of DART to object tracking. The image on top is the reference object to track. Orange lines show the links between DART keypoints matched at the reference object and the tracked object in each video frame. The blue rectangle shows the correct tracking of the object despite changes in illumination and viewpoint.
