Saraikistan is the region of Saraiki people (also called Saraiki Waseb or Saraiki Wasson) in central Pakistan. Its older name was Sauvira. The land of Saraikistan is very rich, fecund and fertile; its people are very simple, humble and loving and the Saraiki language they speak is soft, sober and sweet. D I Khan is one of its important cities and is called as 'Dera--Phullan da Sehra'. The city lies on the bank of mighty river Indus, this river has profound influence over social, economic and cultural life of people of Dera Ismail Khan (called as Derawals). The river bank is the only place of recreation for Derawals and is equally popular destination for both young and old ones. Whether it is winter or sizzling summers people like to go to the river side in time of their leisure.
