This is the promotional film made on behalf of Decca Records in late 1973 to accompany the release of the Caravan album 'For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night'.
This promotional film was shot as a playback recording (not live) in Studio 2 at the Decca recording studios in Broadhurst Gardens, London. 'The Dog, The Dog, He's At It Again' was chosen by Decca to represent the album and a promotional film was quickly produced for print and distribution by December 1973. The film would only go on to be seen as featured on the BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test programme in the same year. It was forgotten and never seen again until release on the Caravan 35th Anniversary concert DVD set in 2004.
The band own the original master negative print which was rediscovered in the old vaults of Kay Laboratories (later Metrocolor) at Technicolour London. As of 2020, the band management in association with Screen Archive South East have completed the preservation project for these original elements, to benefit Kent archives, with commercial release intended in the future.
For historical interest, the version here is introduced by Bob Harris, taken from the Old Grey Whistle Test episode (TX 13/01/1973)
