http://www.GovLiquidation.com // Mars Hill, NC // Everyone likes a good story, with a good guy who does something heroic, so we think you'll like this one. It was only a few months ago that Boy Scout Troop 525 got a big surprise.

While exploring the Internet one day, Michael Dubroff of Mars Hill, NC, came across the online auction website GovLiquidation.com, where businesses and the public can buy authentic U.S. Department of Defense military surplus. The website's varied selection and ease of use made such a good impression on Dubroff that GovLiquidation.com and its pages and pages of military surplus stuck firmly in his mind.

Now fast forward the story several months to the Heritage Festival held in Mars Hill every autumn. As Dubroff, our story's hero, made his way past the crafters and meandered around the dancing cloggers, he noticed that the local Boy Scout troop was selling hot chocolate to raise money for their chapter.

"I started talking to some of the assistant scout masters," Dubroff said. "We have a county that has a lot of natural beauty, but we have a low per capita income. There's a lot of poverty in the county."

Dubroff immediately thought of GovLiquidation.com and decided to help out. As he scoured the military surplus available on the website, he settled on Army ALICE packs because he knew the durability and flexibility of the back packs would be perfect for the Scouts to use on hiking trips.

In fact, Jim Climo, Scout Master of Troop 525, said, "Some of the boys have actually been out on the Appalachian Trail with them."

We only wish we had video footage of the day Dubroff delivered the ALICE packs to the unsuspecting Scouts. You'll enjoy this video though, which includes snippets of interviews with Dubroff, Climo and some of the Scouts praising their new-to-them backpacks.
