This video was shot during an improvisational performance at the Museum of Kinetic Art (M.O.K.A. - www.matbevel.com ) on 5/28/11. Featured are instruments built by Tucson artists who attended a five session instrument workshop at Bicycle Inter-Community Art and Salvage (B.I.C.A.S - www.bicas.org ). All of the instruments played by the workshop participants were constructed from salvaged bike parts mostly. Also incorporated were traditional instrument parts generously donated by Chicago Music ( www.chicagomusicstore.com ). The instruments were amplified using contact mics also built during the workshops. Sitting in for this session on bass-like original instrument is MOKA founder Ned Schaper (aka Mat Bevel). The video was shot by BICAS Arts and Outreach Coordinator Casey Wollschlaeger. Ken sat in on MOKA house upright percussion instrument. Workshop instructor Glenn Weyant sat in on piano.
