The Judge allows private and personal letters into evidence with no relevance to the case. He allows them initially because they were characterized as "found on the kitchen table". Once the detective clarifies that the items were actually found in an office closet and transferred to the kitchen for review, he STILL allows them. His reasoning: The defense accused the Cary Police Department of carrying out a botched investigation and accused them of being inept and corrupt (they are).
