The video is about FMD, in livestock, its causes, symptoms and prevention measures of foot and mouth diseases in animals. FMD is caused by a virus and is easily spread by direct contact, through common drinking water sources. Fever, mouth ulcers, limping, breathing problems are among the most commonly found symptoms. This disease is better managed through preventive measures, such as vaccination. Vaccination is twice a year. 1st in the month of July and second time in the month of December. In case of disease presence, the animal needs to be isolated and use of potassium permanganate on wounds, boro glycerin on tongue, as soothing agent may be undertaken. In case of development of worms on wounds, it needs to be cleaned using turpentine oil or soda carb 4% and dressing the wounds will help in quicker healing. FMD disease results in huge economic losses such as in ability to conceive, deteriorated health and immune system and is better to prevent this disease, than treating it.
