*I AM NOT PLAYING IN THIS VIDEO, IT'S CHRIS "RYBACK" RATCLIFF!*
This is DOOM95 being played on a quad-core with the fallowing command:
-timedemo e4fa3600 -basewad doom.wad -nodm
To use this, make a .bat file in your DOOM95 directory with the fallowing codes:
doom95.exe -timedemo e4fa3600 -basewad doom.wad -nodm
Make sure you have e4fa3600.lmp and [Ultimate]doom.wad. e4fa3600.lmp is a COMPET-N entry by Chris "Ryback" Ratcliff and can be downloaded here:

Here's Ryback's YouTube chanel:

If you have trouble using DOOM95 on your system (such as the mouse won't work or graphics are weird), contact me even if it's unrelated to any of the above things. Also, if you want to know how to record a demo (.lmp), just contact me and I'll guide you through it step by step regardless of what port you're using though I'm most familiar with the original dos DOOM, BOOM, Chocalte DOOM, PrBoom and PrBoom-Plus.
This video (not lmp) was recorded in 2009 and I just found it on my hard drive. I can't tell you the exact specs of my computer because It crashed about 3 years ago but I think it had 4 (or was it 6?) gigs of DDR2 ram and I know it had Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. I could be wrong about the quad-core but if I am wrong, it was defiantly a dual-core.
But anyways, let's get technical. To understand what is going on here, you need to know what a realtic is. A realtic is the smallest fragment of time there is in DOOM. DOOM plays 35 realtics each second regardless of how fast your system is. Like it says in the fallowing link, the "-timedemo" command line parameter "will render every [realtic] in a demo as quickly as possible for benchmarking purposes".
http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Demo#Custo...
There are 86668 realtics in e4fa3600.lmp (according to the "-timedemo" command which is never accurate) but it played at a speed as if there where only 1059 realtics. The speed at which it played (1059 realtics) is referred to as "gametics." To see the average of frames per second in the whole demo, we use this equation:
(realtics/gametics)*35=fps
[(8,668 / 1,059) * 35 = 286.477809 in my case]
This means that we are getting 8.18508026 times the amount of realtics per gametic, with a gametic being a constant of 1/35th of a second or roughly 28.571 milliseconds.
If you have 70 realtics and 35 gametics, then the game is going twice as fast as it should. if you have 35 realtics and 70 gametics, then the game going twice as slow as it should. If the realtics equal the amount of gametics, then you have a steady game at the right intended speed.
