Dr. Kevin Mercado's ACL Rehabilitation Program: Patient is demonstrating an exercise strategy designed to improve lateral movement capabilities with the doctor providing manual resistance. This strategy improves strength of the leg muscles surrounding the hip and knee in order to improve lateral movement. Lateral movement is a key movement pattern pertaining to any sport. Without proper muscle strength/balance ratio, the knee would fail while performing this movement pattern.
