new numbers out today show the nation's unemployment rate now fell to 8-point-9 percent in february. it's down for the third month in a row. but the news is hardly comforting to thousands of new mexicans still out of a job. kayla anderson is here to show us how a new group-- is worng to help those people get back on their feet. when you're unemployed-- finding a job is just part of the problem. you've got to worry about your mortgage and your bills. you wonder if your resume is okay... or if you should go back to school... the list seems endless. now-- there's one place you can go to help help with all of those concerns. hours spent digging for jobs at workforce connections can be tedious and challenging. "it's been tough. i've been unemployed now for about a year." for people like alfonso saavedra there's a lot to worry about. balancing a job search-- struggling to meet bills, updating your resume-- the list seems endless. "kind of frazzled you know. you don't know what to do after you've lost your job." now-- there's a group to help with that frazzled feeling. "we're hearing a wide range of things. i would say the biggest things are mortgage and credit card assistance. like, i've been living off my credit card for a year, so how do i go about repairing my credit? recreation- just how do i take my family out to something that's free and enjoyable, and then just basic job skills." "new mexico wants to work" brings resources together in one location for unemployed people to get help. at their next event, which is open to the public and free of charge-- new mexicans can speak with an unemployment lawyer, a credit expert, a social service group and even an education counselor.
