Six women were seen lying down in six grave pits meditating, on a hillside in southwest China’s Chongqing on February 20, 2017. Feeling hopeless for life, they decided to experience death in this “grave classroom” to dare to face life again and be renascent.
Born in 1987, Liu Taijie founded the “grave classroom”. Suffered from a failed marriage and unemployment when she was 27-year-old, Liu once lost hope and attempted suicide, but she pulled herself together through changing attitude towards life and death. She hopes that this “grave classroom” can help more women who are suffering in life to regain hope by meditating in grave and experiencing death.
