The USC Baccalaureate Ceremony, sponsored by the USC Office of Religious life and held in conjunction with commencement, is an annual multi-faith celebration led by USC's religious directors, student leaders, musical groups and university dignitaries.
The 2012 theme was "Finding Faith," and the highlight of the ceremony was an address by television journalist Lisa Ling, host of "Our America with Lisa Ling."
The student speaker was Mary Ellen Jebbia, president of the Interfaith Council. The musical performances were by Emanuel Powell III, the USC Thornton Chamber Choir, and the Trojan Men.
The participation of numerous university dignitaries, as well as the religious directors who work with our student groups added luster to the occasion. The service itself featured music and readings from a wide range of religious traditions, and concluded with a benediction over the graduating students.
