In Niger, 32% of the population is 10 – 24 yrs and the fertility rate and child marriage rates are among the highest in the world, ensuring access to quality youth-friendly SRH and FP services is critical. Yet, adolescents and young people confront many barriers to access SRH and FP services. Service providers have an important role to play in overcoming these barriers.
“Whose Norms” is a new film created by E2A and produced by Nigerien film company Maggia, which aims to spark reflection, dialogue and action to help service providers in Niger to offer quality youth-friendly SRH services. Produced within the context of E2A’s University Leaders for Change project in Niger, “Whose Norms?” is the second in a suite of three behavior change films. The film was based on qualitative data collected among service providers in Niamey using Pathfinders’ Pathways to Change methodology. The film will be used as part of a comprehensive behavior approach, which applies Pathfinder’s Reflection and Action for Change methodology (REACH) to engage young people, health providers, community members and other to identify and prioritize behavioral outcomes that can improve health and well-being in their communities.
