Winemaker Robert Foley discusses the Terroir, Vinification, Flavor Profile, and Cellar-ability of his 2010 Semillon -- a light and expressive compliment to sunny days and remarkable food pairings.
Floral aromatic notes of honeysuckle, jasmine and anise. Crisp acidity, light and lively on the palate, with a long, clean finish. The 2010 vintage presented us an opportunity to produce a second very small batch of varietal Semillon -- one of our personal favorites for its delicacy and fruitiness. It was vinified in the same style as our Pinot Blanc -- zero time in oak barrels and no malo-lactic fermentation, which keeps the wine focused on its expression of fruit. Limited production.
