For many families, Christmas is a time of celebration with friends and family. But for thousands of others it's a time of stress, sadness and disappointment, as they struggle to put food on the table and to keep a roof over their heads.

Because poverty doesn't take a break at Christmas.

This Christmas season, The Salvation Army will be called upon to give care to more than 17,000 families, providing support ranging from food parcels and practical aid to counselling and accommodation.
