Many substances have been used as money throughout history... shells, cacao beans, copper coins, salt, silver, gold and even wooden sticks... are these things money now? Obviously no one would make the claim that shells are money, so why do silver enthusiasts think they can get away with such an obvious logical fallacy?
Right now silver is a commodity, it is NOT money. Silver may someday be used as currency again, but that is not guaranteed to happen within your lifetime or even your children's lifetime. The main issue I am confronting is the religious aspect of the precious metals sub-culture. Group think must be confronted wherever it hides.
