A radio play by Kimmo Modig with Jenni Markkanen. 2013.

8:06-8:45 Kimmo: (in the background) yeah i unders...we understand each other kinda already, or we try to understand each other too much. Plus this is far from that sincerity you always talk about...or, well this is sincere in the sense that this such an awkward, odd situation and I'm filming it and the music is playing, and...And we're both performing a speaking here although we're trying to be relaxed about our talking. But it's impossible since you know I'll be using this for my work, and you're thinking about the potential audience that will see this, maybe you're thinking how this will affect your stuff...career maybe? I'm thinking about that too, oh well, I don't know what I'm thinking about...But...The question was?...

9:05-10:08 Jenni: [And you're putting a camera to my face], and I'll end up to your work, but I can take it it's OK. But I'm thinking, does this really touch anyone? Are we still quite self-indulgent with this? Is this stuck, like the beat that [sings] "goes forever on and on...we're here in the studio with Kimmo, it's all fun"...But really this is not dreary! There are some elements here...this is very close to the kind of things I like to do, and I'm very happy to be here with you. But, maybe, maybe this could go a bit differently. My hunger for art is aimed for, i dunno, different things.

10:10-10:31 Kimmo: Well...yeah this is super narcisstic work. I'm not even sure there will be any shift in this piece, or maybe I'll find it in the edit. It won't come before that, maybe.

10:32-10:55 Jenni: I'd like this beat in the background. that is so safe and represents this empty gesture, I'd like it to stop now. And I'd like us break down the parts that create this piece, and suddenly it would be all quiet [music stops. Heavy breathing]. You have such lovely socks, Kimmo.

11:44-12:19 Kimmo: Thank you. But, but you can't really know anything about my soul. I can cheat you, pretend to be friendly whereas in reality I'm a bad. terrible human being who...[nervous laughter] I was trying to think of some horrible things but couldn't come up with anything...But yeah, you can't possibly know that. People change, people act differently in different circumstances, so...but, maybe I still say thank you for your assessment. [pauses] I'm done here.
12:20-12:26 Jenni: I'm done too—I give you an option, if you wanna sing a song to me or otherwise we'll stop the session here.
12:28-12:54 Kimmo: Weeell...wait...[exhales]...Well this is the measurement of my braveness, you put me in this judo situation, or you executed this judo move...Oh well...I'm a bad, weak and unbrave human being and won't sing, and I use my author's right to end this here.
12:56 Jenni: Thank you.
12:57 Kimmo: Thanks. [puts down the mic]
