"its not good enough to be Duduzile, no they want to know what's down there in your pants. she was always a like the boys, I love her just like that she is my child." these were the words of Duduzile's mother when we met her. Duduzile's body was found, on 30 June 2013 in her neighbours yard, her pants was down to her ankles, she has one shoe on and the other shoe was further from her body, and it seems she was dragged. a toilet brush was forced into her vagina. a large concrete brick was found next to her body. Tokoza is situated on the East of johannesburg. Duduzile, her mom, her sisters and 2 children live in a tiny one room shack, large enough to fit only one bed and table. Duduzile was the only breadwinner, she was a casual worker and at Shoprite. This is the ongoing narrative and trauma of Lesbians, Gender Non-Conforming Persons and Transwomen and Transmen.
