As access to broadband Internet services becomes increasingly essential, AAJC is committed to achieving universal broadband access for underserved and unserved communities who are not adopting broadband as quickly as the general population.
AAJC is a member of the Broadband Opportunity Coalition (BBOC), a historic alliance of national civil rights organizations formed to increase broadband adoption in unserved and underserved communities nationwide. Our BBOC partners include the National Urban League, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), National Council of La Raza (NCLR), and the NAACP.
BBOC has launched a National Awareness Campaign to educate the communities they serve about the benefits of broadband Internet. After the cost of Internet service, a main reason individuals cite as a reason they do not connect to the Internet is the lack of its relevance to their lives. AAJC produced in-language TV and Radio public service announcements and informational materials in nine Asian languages to spread broadband awareness. Through these materials, AAJC's partners have tools to educate their communities about the benefits of broadband Internet.
