The Dark Knight Rises Directed By Christopher Nolan and starring Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is reviewed by Christy Lemire (AP critic), Matt Atchity (editor-in-chief of rottentomatoes.com), and Alonso Duralde (TheWrap.com and Linoleum Knife podcast).

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.. -- (C) Warner Bros.

whats with all the dislikes? This review hit the nail on the head! This movie was inconsistent, boring and highly overrated. I gave TDKR a 6.5 back when it came out and this review was right on par with a 6.5

Love Batman but this film wasn't great... It was full of plot holes and really dragged at times.

Christy gave twilight a better score than this movie. Its time to go home, you're drunk. On an unrelated note, Alonso gave Ouija a better score than this movie. Seriously, who pays these people?

I am starting to wonder if there is any point in actually reviewing movies, apparently people believe that movies should only be praised, regardless of what the critics actually think about it

I really wanted to love this movie especially since I enjoy almost every Christopher Nolan film, but this was perhaps his weakest film. And honestly, it all comes down to how bloated, unfocused and studio driven the script was. It felt like they had to force a conflict to happen without anything genuinely deep to say or a threat that actually felt threatening. Bane is big and scary, but a poorly thought out twist undermines this to make him a complete pushover. The subplot with JGL was unnecessary as it just meant we got less Batman to actually enjoy. Catwoman was completely underutilized despite Anne Hatheway actually being pretty good in the role. The whole bomb thing was never a problem because we knew exactly how it would end.  The action scenes weren't even shot, edited or choreographed well (on two separate occasions, we visibly see a henchman fall over during a group fight without anyone or anything hitting them!). And I will simply not discuss the plot holes because that's several pages worth of discussion. It just felt joyless and bland.

I remember when The Dark Knight came out Christy said she liked it but didn't love it . Now she said she loves TDK . She is very backwards .

When Bane breaks into Wayne and steals the Tumblers nobody at all questions why Bruce Wayne has batmobiles. This film is way over rated
