The latest Roam TV episode follows SmartWool Athlete and Pro Snowboarder Austin Smith on his journey from “would my single speed be OK for the ride?” to seasoned cycling veteran in a matter of 4 days. Fresh off of his longest-ever ride of 30 miles, he felt up to the challenge of tackling the 350-mile course.
Each year, 80-some SmartWool employees, Athletes and friends take to the streets and human-power their way from Steamboat Springs, Colorado to Park City, Utah. Nine years ago, thinking there must be a better way to commute to the annual Summer Outdoor Retailer trade show, they decided to pedal their way there and invited some friends along for the ride. It’s been an annual pilgrimage ever since.
Follow along as Austin learns the ins and outs of multi-day riding, why bike shorts include chamois and how bacon and chocolate spread make an incredible combination.
